Terms of Service
Last updated: September 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CS1 Connect (“CS1 Connect,” “we,” “us”), the online marketplace at safety1connect.com that connects companies (“Companies”) with independent workplace-safety professionals (“Professionals”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
Booking terms at a glance
Every booking on CS1 Connect follows the same responsibility model. The full terms are below; here is who owns what:
Payment & escrow — held by CS1 Connect
Your payment is held securely by CS1 Connect. It's released to the professional on the class day, after the completion cards are submitted and you approve — not before.
Cancellations — you, up to 48 hours before
Cancel up to 48 hours before the class for a full refund. Inside 48 hours, CS1 Connect reviews it case-by-case — open a request and we'll mediate (weather, emergencies, and genuine conflicts are taken into account).
Service complaints — the professional delivers; CS1 mediates
The professional is responsible for delivering the class as agreed. If you're not satisfied, don't approve release — raise a dispute and CS1 Connect decides whether the held funds are released or refunded.
Out-of-scope work — a new request
The booking covers the agreed course, headcount and date. Extra students, added topics, or another day are a new priced request on CS1 Connect, so everything stays tracked and covered by escrow.
1. What CS1 Connect is — and isn't
CS1 Connect is a neutral venue and technology platform. We help Companies and Professionals find each other, communicate, agree on training or consulting work, and pay for it securely. We are not a party to the service agreement between a Company and a Professional, we do not employ Professionals, and we do not provide safety training, consulting, or certification ourselves. Professionals are independent contractors solely responsible for the services they deliver. Where we display a verification badge, it reflects only a limited administrative review of documents a Professional submitted (see Section 8); it is not a warranty, endorsement, or recommendation, and it does not make CS1 Connect a guarantor of any Professional, their credentials, or their work.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Keep it on the platform
All communication, hiring, scheduling, and payment must happen through CS1 Connect. Sharing or soliciting off-platform contact information (phone numbers, emails, external links, messaging handles) before or in order to circumvent the platform is prohibited. Our systems automatically redact such information from messages and record a strike; repeated attempts result in suspension or a permanent ban. Arranging or completing a booked engagement off-platform to avoid fees is a material breach of these Terms.
4. Fees & payments
CS1 Connect charges a platform service fee on completed bookings (currently 6% of the contract value). Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. When a Company pays an invoice, funds are held securely and released to the Professional on the scheduled class date, less the platform fee. Professionals must complete payout onboarding with Stripe to receive funds. You authorize us and Stripe to collect, hold, split, and disburse funds as described.
5. Cancellations & refunds
A Company may cancel a paid booking for a full refund up to 48 hours before the scheduled class date. Within 48 hours of the class, CS1 Connect reviews cancellation requests case-by-case and mediates a fair outcome between the parties — taking into account weather, emergencies, genuine scheduling conflicts, and the professional's reserved time. Rescheduling is permitted by mutual agreement before the cancellation window closes.
6. Service delivery & complaints
The Professional is solely responsible for delivering the booked class or engagement competently and as agreed. Funds are held in escrow and released only after the completion cards are submitted and the Company approves. If a Company is not satisfied, it should not approve release and may raise a dispute; CS1 Connect will review the matter and decide whether the held funds are released to the Professional or refunded to the Company. This mediation is limited to the funds held for that booking.
7. Scope of work & changes
A booking covers only the agreed course, headcount, date, and location. Work beyond that scope — additional students, added topics, extra sessions, or another day — requires a new priced request on CS1 Connect. Arranging additional paid work off-platform to avoid fees is a material breach of these Terms.
8. Credentials & verification — scope and limits
Professionals represent that their credentials, authorizations, insurance, and certifications are accurate and current, and that they are qualified to deliver the services they list. Submitting false information is grounds for immediate removal.
When CS1 Connect displays a verification badge, it means our team reviewed a document the Professional submitted and it appeared valid as of the date shown. A verification is a limited, point-in-time administrative check of that document. It is not a guarantee or representation that the Professional is competent, currently in good standing, adequately insured, or suitable for your particular job, and it is not a recommendation or endorsement. Credentials can lapse or be revoked after we check them; badges show the date reviewed and any expiry so you can judge currency. Classes marked “experience-based” are offered without a formal credential. Companies remain responsible for their own due diligence — including confirming a Professional's qualifications, authorizations, and insurance — before hiring, and for evaluating the suitability and safety of any engagement. Professionals, not CS1 Connect, are solely responsible for performing services competently, safely, and in compliance with applicable law and OSHA standards.
9. Reviews & content
You retain ownership of content you submit but grant CS1 Connect a license to host and display it to operate the platform. Reviews must be honest and based on real engagements. We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, or violates these Terms.
10. Disclaimers
The platform is provided “as is.” CS1 Connect does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any engagement, or the accuracy of any listing. Safety training and consulting carry inherent risk; you are responsible for evaluating the suitability of any Professional or Company. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CS1 Connect is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of Companies or Professionals. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed the fees we earned on the transaction giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify CS1 Connect against claims arising from your use of the platform, the services you provide or receive, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination & changes
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a revised date, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
